so had another tryst with the Great indian Bureaucracy...let me tell you about my trip to the Passport Office...with zeb! :)

so there i was..lookinh like a complete yuppie and a half..all plugged into my walkman totally ignoring the world around me...listening to a funny RJ on Mid-day Radio (yeah...old loyalties die hard...) and trying to remember the formula for Covariance...bright and early at 9:30 am in the queue along with several 'phoren ja rahen hain' hopefuls!

so zeb comes along...just in the nick of time...when they are letting us in...but wait a minute..what is this...the guard only lets him in..and i who have borne the sweltering heat and dust for over half an hour..am just brushed aside like an untouchable....sniff...sniff..too much of an ego wound to handle for the day...anyways to cut a long story short...managed to fool the guard and enter...and then we are in for a whole day's wait tryig to figure out all kinds of permutaitons and combinations of the form and other documents that the angry clerk with the coffee cum paan stained teeth would demand from us!

so a discussion on privatisation, half a cup of coffee..half a samosa pav..half a sandwich and half a glass of juice later...we finally manage to submit our documents...and what do you know!! it was a feeling almost equal to that of conquering the Everest!!

just to let you know i had a ball of a time!!

so almost in the final phase of preparation for the 'baap' of all exams!! hopefully this time Pappu Paas ho Jaayega!!

life is getting too stressful...joyie has just spent a bomb on a haircut and instead of looking like Aishwarya Rai she looks like Jim Morrisson!!

the mercury is steadily rising in mumbai...

a few more weeks...and the rising temperatures will be adding to our rising tempers...

spoke to good looking parvathy...who will bid adieu to business journalism today....she will be missed...

and then..life drags on...pretentiously as ever!!

suhas (the engineering whizkid who deals with confidential contracts of the India defence forces) is rocking like never before by managing to convince a client to invest in a more or less outdated technology...

and what have i been upto...well, nothing much..just the Mundell Fleming Model, and the Ricardian Theory of Comparative advantage, the Harrod Domar Model of Growth and a little bit of Monetary Economics...yeah yeah...am showing off...

i wish there was an exchange offer on life....sigh!!

so if investigative journalism was really just about hidden cameras..why do we need to go to J Schools to become journos?

just finished reading Prabhat Patnaik's Retreat to Unfreedom and Other Essays...one of the most satisfied reading that i have done in quite some time....the essays are not just powerful in terms of the arguments he puts forth convincingly but also in the simplicity of language used to convey a complex point....

if i ever go to JNU...i swear i will swoon...hahaha...nah...but promise not to behave like Patnaik either (remember Priti 'Jhinta' Patnaik aka 'gundu' of ACJ fame who spoke with Prabhat Patnaik for about ten minutes and did not recognise him even after he introduced himself to her at the WSF?)

will someone please tell the Congress that the Mahatma didn't wear glares through the searing dust and heat of the Dandi march? coz the front page of the Times carries a pic of a Mahatma lookalike commomerating the 75th year of the Dandi March with glares and a sizeable paunch...

watched Million Dollar Baby yesterday...was quite tragic and all that...dad was quite disappointed to note that i didn't want to watch the film with him even though it had his favourite hero Clint Eastwood!!

the film's great...some great camera work too...and Swank's swell!! but the Oscar to Freeman is highly suspect...he hardly had a role!!

did i tell you guys that shibbs is still as stunning as ever!!

and did i also tell you that i am back on earth after a make believe trip to Neverland? so now that i have crashlanded and am back to reality...i have decided to blog more often!!

so am back after a life changing trip to coimbatore...have found new perspective among other things...

was staying amidst hills and forests...tried to go elephant spotting...but spotting their droppings was as close as i got to seeing them!
saw all kinds fo strange insects and birds...peacocks a foot away...parched waterfall streams...rocky river beds...

so am 23 now...feel all grown up and responsible and independent and...CRAP!!

hopefully i am just two months away from another life changing experience!! else i am rushing towards the nearest hillock to hurl myself from...
